So we all know (or not) that I started this blog awhile back as kind of an outlet since work (at the time) was really dragging me down. After I left that job, it became an outlet in another sort of way- connecting me to the outside world. No, it's not like I'm some crazy agoraphobe, but without having a job, I definitely have way less social interaction during the week, no matter how much I'm running around town. It also became other things- a creative outlet, a way to keep friends and family in the loop about my current pregnancy, and also added a little bit of structure to my day.
What it also did, which I hadn't anticipated, was that it reconnected me with some old friends. Sure, I am still "connected" to these people through Facebook, but now that FB automatically updates my wall each time I create a new post, it has invited all of these people into my little corner of the world. I get emails and comments now from people I haven't heard from since elementary school, I'm back in touch with girls I did gymnastics with, and I've reconnected with some friends that I simply lost touch with after college. And lucky me, one of these gals is super talented and generous. I have known Megan since preschool and because our last names back then both started with an "E", we were pretty much stuck together through high school. Even more fun was that in high school, my family moved into the house right behind her, which somehow convinced our parents that school-night sleepovers were totally acceptable, as was the last day of school party that we threw together and tore down some of the fence so that people could go back and forth between our houses for double the fun.
(Obviously, Megan was better at taking pictures than me at this age. When my mom found this photo for me, she said, "It's a much better picture of Megan than of you.")
My point... right, so Megan is one of the people that I have gotten back in touch with because of my blog and it's been fun to catch up and rekindle an old friendship. Not to mention that I totally lucked out because, as I mentioned, she is awesome. She has a blog where she shows all of the amazing projects she has been working on and now that we're back in the friend zone, I am the very happy recipient of all of this Megan-made cuteness:
Thank you so much, Megan! I think I love nothing more than handmade items for the baby since it makes it so much more fun to fill the closet with more personal stuff. As for the rest of you, I'd love to know who else is reading my blog out there so stop being so dang shy and become one of my followers for crying out loud. Computer illiterate? It's easy. Just look on the right hand side of my blog and click "Follow". How easy was that? Bonus: If I know you're reading my blog, I'll know not to talk bad about you around here. Otherwise, no guarantees.
