I'm painfully aware that just about everything around here is out of date, so while I try and clean up this dump of a blog, go ahead and enjoy a feature that I may or may not implement on Fridays: Photo of the Week. This week's photo comes to us from a picture I took on my phone about a year ago near our house.
Obviously I still keep it in my phone in case I find this stupid bird and can use it as a reference. First, I see that I need to check the gender of the bird. Second, I need to coax Beethoven's 9th out of this thing. I love "Still Missing!" as if to update all of us on the bird's status. For those of you out there following Sweetie's saga, he's Still Missing!!! Because that status is so very likely to change. I also want to point out that this isn't even a picture of their bird. Unless you want to tell me that, in anticipation of his imminent departure, they set up a photography studio with a pink background and asked Sweetie to please turn to the side for a nice profile shot, then I'm pretty sure this ain't Sweetie. In fact, maybe they never even had a bird. I can google "cockatiel" images and put up a couple signs just as easy as they did and get myself a free bird. Or not, because I'm sure in a few months we'll see another sign reading "Still Missing! Still!!!" because no way is this bird hanging around town waiting to be caught and sent back to captivity. Anyway, I'm just saying.
