My friend, Ali, is due to have a baby in May so we threw her a little baby shower while she was in town a few weeks ago. My Chicago friends have set the bar pretty high when it comes to baby showers, but I am in no way as creative as them. I thought if I just spent a ton of time cutting out dots for my "She's About To Pop!" theme, I could make up for it just a tiny bit. Dots. That's what I came up with.
Molly was responsible for the cake, but more on that later.
Wow! Look at all those dots!!!
I found an invite similar to this on Pinterest, and Molly took it and ran with it.
I printed out these cards for the guests to fill out. Messages for both Ali and the baby, for Ali to read in the hospital.
Continuing on with the "pop" theme, I had a popcorn bar set out with different flavors and seasonings.

Cheddar cheese and "Party Pop" (white chocolate and sprinkles drizzled on top).
I also had truffle butter popcorn and caramel.
There were actually three pregnant girls there, so the Pop station got more use than I anticipated. And yes, those are polka dot straws in a baby bottle. Thank you.

Everyone pitched in with the food.
POPcorn chicken. Obvs.
The game we played was Baby Jeopardy (super fun and so much better than playing Guess the Poop or whatever games people usually play at these things). Everytime someone got a 500 pointer correct, Ali got to open another gift.
being bossy acting as Baby Jeopardy host.
The winner (Ali... though to be fair, she tied but we gave it to her in honor of being the "most pregnant") won a jar of popcorn kernels and truffle salt (which worked out great since it was the most popular flavor of the night).
The adorable cake Molly made (and some lolliPOPs).
But wait, there's more to the cake than meets the eye...
...blue inside to match the party decor. Loves it.
The party favor was these Chinese take-out boxes for the guests to fill with popcorn before they left.

So much fun. We are all dying to meet the little nugget in May!
