Five on Friday: 5/9

{ONE}
Is there anything sadder than a fat girl getting super excited about the opening of a fast food chain?  Don't care.  On Tuesday, Chicago got it's first Sonic Drive-In.  Two of my biggest cravings in both pregnancies have been ice to chomp on and tart lemonade.  You better believe that I was first in line for a cherry limeade filled with the world's best chompin' ice.  The kiddo loved it for the free samples.

I read the book "Where'd You Go, Bernadette" while in Miami and it was funny and unique and easy to read.  I'm currently getting bogged down by "The Shining Girls" which is a time traveling murder mystery and it's just really not doing it for me.  What I need right now is a much lighter read like Bernadette.  Any suggestions?

The kiddo fell asleep the other day singing "Bye, Bye, Little Sebastian".  While I wish I could tell you that Parks & Rec is his favorite show, I'm pretty sure that Daddy taught him that one.  Still, hearing it on the monitor was kind of hilarious.

Three more weeks until we meet this little nugget!
Baby's face is a little smushed because he had it pushed right up against the placenta for the photo shoot.

{FIVE}
Or possibly a whole lot sooner because I am measuring like I should have delivered TWO WEEKS AGO.  That's from a belly measurement and the baby is right around seven pounds right now which means I'm just gonna have to sit tight since, even though I am ginormous, the baby is still a normal weight.  But you guys.  It's seven pounds now.  I still have three weeks for it to plump up and break the record for the biggest baby ever born.  I'm the same freaking size now that I was when I gave birth last time one week late.  I can't even...

And can this madness stop?  A lady in her car saw me walking down the street yesterday and literally yelled at me out of her car window "Ready to pop, huh?!?"  Where do I live that this is ok???

  1. A Parks and Rec AND Roseanne reference in the same post? You are on fire today! I wish for you what I got with my second baby ... an early arrival!

  2. I also just read "Where'd you go, Bernadette" this weekend - different and interesting. I just stared "Revenge Wears Prada" which is the sequel to "Devil Wears Prada," and although I'm only 2 chapters in, I've got a feeling it's not as good. However, it IS lighthearted and easy. But I would definitely recommend "The Art Forger" which I read a few months ago.
